Business Disability Forum
Updated 28 August 2024:
The Equality and Inclusion Unit is in the process of reviewing and updating this webpage.
The Business Disability Forum (BDF) provides specialist advice and expert guidance to colleagues who are in roles providing support to disabled employees.
HR Managers, HR Officers, and line managers can benefit from our institutional BDF membership. In November 2023 the University hosted recorded webinars to share more information about these membership benefits. A recording of the BDF membership webinar is available for staff to access and learn more. Alongside this recording the BDF membership presentation slides are also available.
The benefits of the institutional BDF membership provide services that promote best practice for disability and equity inclusion in the workplace, including:
- Advice Service: Unlimited access to the BDF’s confidential Advice Service staffed by a team of expert advisers providing guidance and practical problem-solving help. You can contact the BDF Advice Service by calling +44 20 7403 3020, emailing them at advice@businessdisabilityforum.org.uk or through the SignVideo BSL Live Service.
- Resource Library: Specialist resources on specific conditions and practical information to help you improve disabled colleagues' experiences in the workplace.
- Conferences and events: Attend webinars and events led by specialists and experts to support your learning and development.
To access your BDF membership, sign up with your University of Leeds email address on the BDF membership signup webpage.
The University's BDF Account Manager provided a demonstration of how to navigate key sections of the BDF website, including the Knowledge Hub resource library. Access the BDF website overview recording.
