Athena Swan, Gender Charter

The University of Leeds faculties achieve a Silver and two Bronze Athena SWAN awards. We are delighted to announce that the University has received three Athena SWAN Charter awards in the recent submission round, recognising our advancement of gender equality. Following submissions in Autumn 2019, the following faculties received Athena SWAN awards:

  • Faculty of Biological Sciences achieved a Silver award
  • Faculty of Social Sciences achieved a Bronze award
  • Leeds University Business School achieved a Bronze award.

More details about the Athena SWAN Charter, including the Athena SWAN Principles, are available through Advance HE website. The recent awards are in addition to the 11 awards (one Gold, six Silver and four Bronze) already held at the University:

 

  • Faculty of Social Sciences, Bronze, awarded May 2020
  • Faculty of Biological Sciences, Silver, awarded May 2020
  • Leeds University Business School, Bronze, awarded May 2020
  • School of Medicine, Gold, awarded November 2019
  • Faculty of Environment, Silver, awarded November 2019
  • Faculty of Maths & Physical Sciences, Bronze, awarded November 2019*
  • School of Psychology, Silver, awarded May 2019
  • Faculty of Engineering, Silver, awarded April 2019**
  • School of Healthcare, Silver, awarded May 2018
  • School of Dentistry, Silver, awarded April 2017
  • Institutional Bronze, awarded November 2016
