  • Women in Engineering and Computing Student Society – The University of Leeds Students Women’s Engineering Society was founded in 2015 to support female engineering students in their personal and professional development and help you to become future engineers and leaders. Our aims are to increase your employability upon graduation and to strengthen your links with successful female engineers.
  • UKRC – The UK Resource Centre for Women in SET is the UK Government’s lead organisation for the provision of advice, services and policy consultation regarding the under-representation of women in science, engineering, technology and the built environment (SET). The UKRC organises regular events at venues across the UK.
  • International Journal of Gender, Science and Technology – GST focuses on gender issues in and of science and technology, including engineering, construction and the built environment, and aims to explore the intersections of policy, practice and research. Its aim is to help foster and develop the growing community of researchers, practitioners and policy makers who are interested in gender issues in science and technology and provide a focus for constructive debate and interchange of ideas between key players and experts in this field.
  • Times Higher Education article – “Women produce fewer papers than men over a lifetime and are still scarce in senior positions, especially in science. Dispelling myths of innate difference between the sexes, Amanda Goodall offers advice on how they can raise their research productivity and status in the academy”.
  • VITAE – Vitae is a national organisation championing the personal, professional and career development of doctoral researchers and research staff in higher education institutions and research institutes.
  • Association for Women in Science (AWIS) – Leadership organisation advocating the interests of women in science and technology.
  • MentorSET – Mentoring scheme to help women working in STEM.
  • Women’s Engineering Society (WES) – A professional, not-for-profit network of women engineers, scientists and technologists offering inspiration, support and professional development. Working in partnership, we campaign to encourage women to participate and achieve as engineers, scientists and as leaders.
  • Mums in Science – Established in 2005 to support parents who work, have worked, or want to work in any aspect of science.
  • Women Wanted – Scholarships, Colleges and Careers in Computer Science.
  • WISE Campaign – A campaign to promote Women in SET. WISE inspires girls and women to study and build careers using science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). They advise organisations on how to create environments where those women can do their best work and thrive. WISE organises regular events at venues across the UK and you can subscribe to a monthly e-newsletter which will keep you up to date with events, activities, publications, articles and general advice.
  • A Guide for Women in STEM – Research shows that women are underrepresented across most technical and scientific fields, including data science. This guide is intended to provide a general background and specific resources for women considering STEM fields.
