International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of the success of women and a campaign for equality uniting all regardless of gender identity or expression. This year the University of Leeds will be celebrating International Women’s Day and supporting the IWD campaign #PressforProgress with a variety of events and activities taking place across campus.

This year International Women’s Day will focus on how we can come together and #PressforProgress in light of the 2017 World Economic Forum Report that revealed it would be 217 years until the economic gender gap is closed.
While this is a day to celebrate what has already been achieved it is also a day to highlight what is still to be done and challenge behaviours that stand in the way of gender equality, uniting friends, colleagues and communities.
In addition to the events being held across the University this year you can also pledge your commitment to pressing for progress with International Women’s Day below.
