A message from Leeds Disabled People’s Organisation (LDPO):
We are inviting you to join us in celebrating Leeds Pride 2019 with the second year of LDPO’s Accessible and Inclusive Pride Picnic! This year it’s going to be bigger and better thanks to our friends at Leeds Pride 2019 who have funded the event.
Come along to Golden Acre Park on Saturday 17th August to enjoy the sunshine, eat great food (you’ll love what you bring) and meet some new people. We’ll have information on local LGBTQ+ organisations as well as some of the work we are doing with partners in the city to make Leeds the best city to live in for disabled people.
Of course we want this event to be accessible for everyone and so we have chosen to celebrate the Changing Places toilet in Golden Acre Park, which also has disabled parking, step free routes, a cafe, a gorgeous surroundings to enjoy the day. Thanks to the funding we have received we will be able to offer reimbursements for people who may incur additional costs to attend the picnic (i.e. accessible taxis or PA support). We are also working on getting an accessible bus for transport to and from the picnic and trying hard to find funding for British Sign Language Interpreters!
We’d love for you to be involved!
We would like to invite you to come along to the picnic to share some of the work you / your organisation are doing, whether this is a more formal space with a stall and fliers or just for people to have a chat with and find out more about what is available in Leeds. If you would like to support the picnic please let us know what you might need and we can try to support you, and if you are happy then we’d love to add you to our promotional material too.
Please find attached our flier for the picnic which we would be grateful if you could share – if you’re happy to ‘tag’ us, our Twitter handle is @LeedsDPO and our Facebook page is here.
If you have any questions please get in touch with us via social media or by emailing: email@example.com
Many thanks and we hope to see you there!
